Job Title: Community Specialist
Location: Hybrid — remote work with regular presence at our Brossard office
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time (minimum of 20 hours per week)
About Alea
At Alea, we see period care as an essential part of your self-care — something that should feel good, do good, and be accessible to all. That’s why we created a line of organic and sustainable period products designed to support your body while respecting the planet.
Our mission goes beyond products. We’re here to shift the conversation around menstruation, break taboos, and build a more conscious, empowered community. Whether we're supporting individuals, partnering with retailers, or working with schools or organizations, everything we do is rooted in care — for people and for the planet.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a passionate and people-first Community Specialist to help us deepen relationships with our audience and expand our presence through authentic, values-aligned engagement.
About the Role
As Community Specialist, you will be the voice and heart of Alea across our digital platforms. Your role will center on growing our engaged online community, nurturing authentic connections, and amplifying our mission through user-generated content, affiliate partnerships, and customer advocacy.
You’ll also support other key areas of our small but mighty team — from helping sales run smoothly to supporting day-to-day admin tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Grow & Manage Online Community
- Build and maintain a vibrant presence across social channels (Instagram, TikTok, etc.), forums, and newsletters.
- Engage with community members daily — responding to comments, DMs, and mentions with empathy and alignment to brand voice.
- Post on social media and support with content creation as needed, ensuring the content aligns with Alea’s voice, mission, and values.
Influencer & UGC Partnerships
- Identify, reach out to, and nurture relationships with micro- and macro-influencers who align with Alea’s mission.
- Collaborate with influencers and customers to generate authentic user-generated content (UGC), reviews, and testimonials.
Affiliate & Referral Program Management
- Launch and manage a structured affiliate program with performance tracking and ongoing engagement.
- Design and execute a customer referral program that rewards loyalty and drives growth.
Customer Advocacy & Reviews
- Cultivate relationships with Alea’s most loyal customers to gather feedback, reviews, and stories.
- Turn customer love into brand content — from testimonials to blog features.
Organize Community Events
- Plan and host virtual and in-person events (panels, workshops, Q&As, product launches, etc.) that educate, empower, and connect the Alea community.
- Partner with aligned brands and thought leaders to create meaningful, inclusive experiences.
Sales & Admin Support (as needed)
- Support the sales team with community-related leads, influencer conversions, or wholesale inquiries.
- Assist with admin-related tasks such as tracking outreach, updating CRM tools, organizing digital assets, and coordinating with partners.
- Pitch in across departments during campaign launches or busy periods — we’re a startup, and we all wear many hats!
Insights & Reporting
- Monitor community sentiment and engagement metrics to optimize strategy.
- Regularly report on performance, campaign impact, and affiliate/referral KPIs.
Who You Are
- You’re passionate about sustainability, wellness, and breaking taboos around period care.
- You have 2+ years of experience in community management, influencer marketing, or social media in a DTC or lifestyle brand.
- You're a strong communicator with excellent written English and French.
- You thrive in a startup environment — proactive, self-sufficient, and solutions-oriented.
- You’re comfortable supporting other areas of the business when needed.
- Bonus: experience with community events and affiliate marketing tools.
What We Offer
- A meaningful role in a fast-growing, mission-driven startup
- Flexible working environment
- Opportunity to shape a brand with purpose and impact
- Access to sustainable period care products (obviously!)
- A supportive, kind, and inclusive team culture
