Menstrual Health Day: Alea’s Impact in Fighting for Menstrual Equity

Since I built Alea, every day has been a dedication—a deep commitment to changing the narrative around menstrual health, accessibility, and period poverty. On this Menstrual Health Day, let’s take a moment to explore the meaningful strides Alea has taken to make menstrual products both accessible and equitable across Canada.

Improving Menstrual Accessibility in 2500+ Bathrooms

Alea’s reach now extends to over 2500 corporate and school bathrooms nationwide. Circling back to our mission to put quality, organic menstrual products where they belong: in clear view and easy access: overcoming the status quo that public bathrooms access to period products is limited.

How do we do this? By providing eco-friendly cotton tampons, organic pads, liners, and bundles designed for different flows—blending comfort, biodegradability, and health-conscious care for both businesses and consumers. Our corporate solutions integrate small dispensers and wall dispensers that provide easy access to essential products throughout the day.

The Fight Against Period Poverty: A Commitment Beyond Business

Period poverty remains a persistent challenge that impedes health and wellbeing for many worldwide. Alea recognizes that access to safe and organic menstrual products is a basic right, not a privilege. To fight this, we commit to give back 2% of all sales directly to Canadian non-profit organizations dedicated to period poverty. Through this program, we contribute not only in donations—supplying biodegradable pads, tampons, and liners—but also awareness, education, and promoting menstrual health literacy.

Corporate Offers That Make a Real Difference

The workplace is where many of us spend significant parts of our day, yet period product accessibility is often overlooked. Alea provides tailored corporate packages crafted to equip offices with easy-to-install and discreet dispensers.

The offerings include:

  • Wall dispensers with refillable biodegradable period products fit for diverse flow needs
  • Bulk organic bundles composed of both heavy and light flow options, and mixed bundles supporting day-to-day needs
  • Customizable bundles for corporate health partnerships

Why offer these? Because availability matters. This premise fosters a thoughtful, modern approach to employee care and signals an organization's commitment to sustainability and social equity.
